Music is a beautiful and profound form of art. It is very unfortunate that when taught incorrectly it can turn into a frustrating experience. Dr. Tokarski strongly believes music should not be treated as a tool for competing with others but rather opportunity to learn more about ourselves.

Studying music is one of the most cognitively beneficial activities people can pursue. Properly designed piano training  has a tremendous impact on the development of skills that can then be utilized in other disciplines, such as creative writing, mathematics, science, and engineering. In his  2004 research E. Glenn Schellenberg found that children who took 36-weeks piano lessons demonstrated increase in IQ, comparing to children who did not receive any music lessons. (Schellenberg E. G. (2004). To learn more about the benefits of studying piano please click here.

Dr. Tokarski's doctoral dissertation dealt with cognitive aspects of piano memorization. Through his academic research Dr. Tokarski became deeply interested with intellectual benefits of learning piano. As a result Dr. Tokarski has developed a teaching methodology which focuses on using piano training as a stimuli for the development of cognitive skills such as memorization, concentration, and processing speed. This approach has been particularly effective with children as their brain demonstrates high level of neuroplasticity.
